Wilcon Depot, the country's most trusted name in home building, hand over a check worth P1.8 million for the purchase of a brand new Isuzu 10-Wheeler Fire Tanker to the community service arm of Bacolod Filipino - Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (BFCCCII) —the Chamber Volunteer Fire Brigade (CVFB).
Held last December 7, 2017 at the BFCCCII Building at Bacolod City, the donation turnover event was led by (L-R) Philippine Red Cross Governor Jorge Lim, Wilcon VP for Human Resource Grace Tiong, Wilcon President & Chief Executive Officer Lorraine Belo-Cincochan, Wilcon SEVP-Chief Operating Officer Rosemarie Ong, CVFB Fire Chief Bryant Lao, BFCCCII President Ong Beng Ping, BFCCCII Executive Vice President Clifford Uy and BFCCCII Director Wee Kiat Tan.
Established in September 1977, the Chamber Volunteer Fire Brigade is a group that started their volunteering services by responding to fire suppression operations in Bacolod City and other nearby localities. Today, CVFB has expanded their volunteerism acts into participating and responding in rescue and relief during calamities, emergency medical services, free medical missions, bloodletting, and carrying out the fight against the dreaded dengue through fogging.
Similar to Wilcon, CVFB is also celebrating their 40th Founding Anniversary, and Wilcon wanted the donation to act as a show of appreciation to the brigade's remarkable job in the country since its inception over four decades ago.
This turnover ceremony solidifies Wilcon's advocacy in going beyond their duties as the country's most preferred home building retailer as they persistently find opportunities in extending assistance to Filipino communities to not just help them build, improve and refine their homes but help them in times of need as well.
