Everyone was bright and breezy in Wilcon Builders' Depot
and Supply's annual family dubbed as "Wilcon Goes Green"
held on May 24 and 31, 2009 at its newly-constructed
distribution warehouse in Montalban, Rizal.
Wilcon planned two action-packed days filled not only
with fun games but also enriching and ecological
activities. |

The
ceremonial planting was the event's big starter
initiated by Wilcon president and CEO Mr. William Belo
and EVP-COO Ms. Rosemarie Ong. It was then followed by
the formation of the letter W that symbolized the
company's firm stand and unanimity in creating a better
world for the present and coming generations.
In line
with the company's on-going green campaign aimed at
edifying and moving the consumers to take an immediate
action in saving our natural resources from
deterioration, Wilcon also involved its employees by
engaging them to a lecture on vermi-composting. |
|
Conducted by Beth de
Castro of Organic Earth Angel, the lecture emphasized
the importance of a healthy environment and provided
easy solutions to lessen domestic garbage disposal while
helping create a greener environment.
Meanwhile, families rivaled for the toughest and fastest
in My Family is Better than your Family. Wilcon's
adaptation of Amazing Race, obstacle course, bucket
brigade and basketball dribbling relay. Adding an
artistic hue to the affair, kids, teens and adults vied
for the best illustration of the environment in the
Poster Making Contest. |

Wilcon employees became even more excited and energetic
when Edu Manzano arrived in support of the company's
family day.
In his short speech, Manzano, the company's official
product endorser and affair's special guest, stressed
the value of having a solid family. He also pointed out
that each of us has responsibilities not only to
ourselves and families, but also to the environment and
country.
The management, through the Wilcon Goes Green campaign,
aims to reinforce environmental awareness concurrent
with espousing solidarity among the new and old
employees. |
