Wilcon Supports Habitat for Humanity Youth Build 2012-06-07 16:16:27

Habitat for Humanity and Wilcon Builder's Depot recently collaborated on a new endeavor benefiting Filipinos in need.  On May 12, 2012, 50 of Wilcon's employees and top executives volunteered at the Habitat for Humanity Youth Build in Brgy. Tanza, Navotas.  The total number of volunteers present that day reached approximately 2,200.  Wilcon's volunteer effort at Navotas was part of Wilcon's consistent commitment to better the lives of Filipinos through partnerships with other like-minded humanitarian institutions.

May 12 was a special day for Habitat for Humanity, as thousands of young people in China, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand worked on local Habitat build sites.  Their efforts manifested how strongly they care about creating a world where everyone has a decent place to live.  Prior to May 12, hundreds of thousands of people in the Asia-Pacific region showed their solidarity with Habitat's vision through online fundraisers and social network engagement.  In the Philippines, there were two build sites: one in Navotas, and one in Cagayan de Oro.

Habitat for Humanity is one of Wilcon's most active partners, and the Youth Build was one the latest in a commendable line of Wilcon's support efforts.  Keeping in line with one of Wilcon's prior arrangements with Habitat for Humanity, Wilcon has also donated waterclosets to the group's projects for 2012.
